In your initial consultation, your surgeon will be able to tell you all about your hernia and what options there are for the repair. There will be plenty of time to ask any questions you may have so you have all the information you need to decide on your options.
Self Pay patients will receive a written quote for the surgery. This will include the consultant fee, hospital fee, anaesthetic fee and follow up consultations.
For patients who have medical insurance, we will request a guarantee of payment on your behalf.
Before the operation:
We will organise everything for you, and give you all the details you require for the preparation of your surgery.
The Day of the Procedure:
On the day of the procedure, we will meet you in the clinic and assist you in checking into the clinic. Our surgeon and anesthetist will speak to you beforehand and go through the procedure with you. Even though you are in safe hands, we understand that you may be nervous and we will do everything we can to make you feel comfortable.
After the Procedure:
The majority of our patients will be able to go home the same day. Some will require a longer stay in hospital. If this is the case, then our surgeon will visit you before you are discharged.
You will be sent home with instructions for post operative care and if required, a prescription for pain relief. We will see patients 7 – 10 days after the operation to ensure that everything is healing correctly. If patients have any concerns or worries before this time, it is important to let us know as soon as possible. We can often reassure you over the phone.
